I tried to be very green this summer as always, ok mostly. I only actually mowed the yard two times this year, and I'm already done for the winter. Both times it was over my waist and my other family members were complaining. We did have many more wildflowers than I expected to see in one summer, I enjoyed that very much. My lawn is now more lush where it used to be sparse and bare, I have moss around my trees and I really have seen an improvement in my yard. I think my total expense for the summer on a 3 acre lot was about $30, just for the price of the gross gas to run the mower. I think it grows more slowly the less you mow it.

We also tilled up a big garden area to grow our own fruit and veggies next year, I have about half of it covered with carpet and half of it exposed, I don't know what is better for the winter care of a garden. Anybody with advice drop a line.

Green is Great. Meg

Meg, we do not understand why humans mow their grass. They kill pretty flowers they call "weeds". And such a waste of time and money. We will fly over your yard in our saucy saucer to experience the beauty. I cannot wait to hear how the garden grows next year.
