I must confess I am not totally green . However , I must say that I was extremely lucky to have had the grandfather (moms side) I did . He enjoyed everything mother earth had to offer , and he made sure his four grandsons did also . He would take us on trips to various places mountains ,the ocean , deserts ,& prairies and teach us about the wonders each area had to offer . Always saying , No matter where you are in your life take the time to look up , look down , look all around , because th…

Two Hundred MILLION (200,000,000) TONS of plastic are produced every year.
All plastic products are made from petrochemicals. As the name implies, a main ingredient in petrochemicals is OIL.
The average American uses 290 pounds of plastic every year.
Every hour Americans use and discard 2.5 million plastic bottles, totaling 22 billion a year.

I do not intend to instill fear in anyone. Fear is counterproductive. However, it is necessary to state with clarity and vision the wanton destruction that is occurring on this beautiful planet. It is absolutely imperative that the following information be assimilated and acted upon NOW or life as we know it will not survive another 60 to 70 years. This is a fact, not an opinion. I don't sugar-coat distasteful subjects, nor do I play games or tread lightly when the future of our children and our…

A home-owner has managed to beat soaring gas bills by taking tips from the Middle Ages.
With power companies spending millions on cutting edge technology to save energy, Peter Breuer has slashed his gas bill to just a quarter of the usual cost, using a stove based on a design from the 14th century.
The Hungarian tile stove is so effective that the 80-year-old grandfather has been able to switch off his central heating.
It uses just one small bundle of wood - which he often gets free from loca…

According to a United Nations report more than half of humanity will be living with water shortages within 50 years because of a worldwide water crisis. Severe water shortages affecting at least 400 million people today will affect 4 billion people by 2050. Upstate New York’s reservoirs have dropped to record lows. Southwestern states such as Arizona will face other severe freshwater shortages by 2025. The government projects that at least 36 states will face water shortages within five years be…

Dear Earthling, I am so confused. Why do you purchase beauty products made in a laboratory rather than trusting in your dear Mother Nature?
Due to the influence of actor tree-hugger humans like Leonardo DiCaprio, Laurie David and Al Gore, there are hundreds of stellar beautiful products that are natural, healthy and green. You can stop poisoning your skin, and be friendly to your planet.

I have decided to help the planet in my own small way by not mowing it this year, or most of it. I have made a path to my driveway and done small areas around the house, but we are leaving huge patches all around to save the gas required for cutting. This has resulted in beautiful violets, bluebells, and other wildflowers, as well as wild onions, which we eat. This has saved me sunburn, time and muscle pain as well. Good all around!
